Project Aurora involves the construction of a 330,000 tonnes-a-year fully-integrated Ammonium Nitrate complex at Moranbah in Central Queensland. The facility comprises ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce. IPL, through its wholly owned subsidiary Dyno Nobel Moranbah has signed a project agreement with United Group Resources Pty Ltd, Bilfinger Berger Services (Australia) Pty Ltd and BCG Contracting Pty Ltd. We have also signed a 15-year coal seam methane supply agreement with Arrow Energy Limited. The project has the support of long-term contractual commitments from four major global mining companies for the bulk of planned output.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Northern Region, the Senior Project Engineer will be accountable for:
- Develop, implement and commission a variety of CAPEX projects ranging in value from $100k up to $2 mil
- Work closely with the Moranbah Operations Team to ensure projects are correctly identified and to ensure appropriate front end development methodology is applied

Prepare and communicate regular reports on the capital progress at the Moranbah operations using Company business systems

Deliver sustained improvements in production levels through highlighting and removing bottlenecks and poor practices

Lead the site projects group to effectively achieve the capital plan.

Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards
To be successful in this role, you will require
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering with at least 10 years experience in a similar environment
- Proven success of delivering on accountabilities in a production or chemical manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated understanding of capital program management and modern business process
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- An unwavering commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Community
